first level ever

this is a boring picture. it is the window in my apartment. i imagine many of you can recongnize southview windows. i like this window. it faces the BJ haan, often has marvolous views of sunsets, and is all around a good window. it keeps out the cold and doesn't frost up or freeze open or shut like the windows in north hall. today we had lots of fun with this window. since the screen is always out, we threw raisins at people as they walked into southview. then i just about hit marcel in the head with a piece of bread. sometimes we drop fans and the like out the window. it is good fun.

today, i was looking out the window, when i suddenly got a level for having the screen out. whoops-i-daisy. thats what you get for making idle conversations with RA's while your head is out the window.

this is my first level ever. i guess i have been pretty lucky in the past. there have been times where i have been sick to my stomach for fear of getting caught for things worse than level ones, but my ninja stealth has always got me through. i guess i have been getting pretty lazy, for now i have a level.
even the greatest ninja's get caught once in a while.

cool-o-meter

here it is. today we had a test, and jeff went up 80 points. CAPTION: "up 80 points. Anything is cooler than being tested on gen 3-stupid stupidness."

it was a decent test. jeff also knew the material, so that had an affect on cool-tron production. when one is this cool, it is easy to take mastery over the gen 3-stupidness of anything, including gen 3-stupid tests.

despite the up in cool, jeff still failed to entertain me during the test. i tried provoking him, by scribbling on his test paper, but this got me nowhere. i had to rely on carolyn spilling tea all over her test.

to answer some questions, cool-o-meter is not pronounced like one would pronounce spedometer, or kilometer. it is definitely pronounced as if you were reading the following words in sequence, cool, o, and meter.

yesterday i ate:
-kyles croisant roll pizza dish
-ice cream (1/2 gallon)
-whole wheel of cheese (1)
-cookies

in addition to yesterday

after i posted that blog, i did some late night snacking

25 cent fries (2)
ice cream (1/4 gallon)
strawberry pie with whipped cream
bag of dill pickel chips (1)

bowling was good. i had one of those katy dekens and ethan situations when craig b. came up to me and said, "we know each other, do you want to be my friend?" i said sure. then we talked about cars. man stuff. and drank 25 cent beer. man fuel.

assessment immorality

first of all,

home work seems to be piling. this is five papers in progress. it might not seem so sad, except for the fact that the rest of it has started migrating over to jasons old desk. son of a bitch.

i also have some assessment day sadness to report. first of all, i wrote the assement, even though my name was not on the master sheet of students who have to write assesments. hopefully this means that i will not have to write it again next semester between student teaching. but there is more. i sure hope i don't get an email from the history department about my bad history assessment test. first of all, i hate multiple choice testing. i have to read each question and its answers five times before answering. i was only a quarter of the way into the test when everyone else started handing their in. i thought that i would be there for three hours, and when the test has no correlation to a lower grade, i found myself filling in circles without reading questions. i felt pretty immoral, but i did it anyway. son of a bitch. o well, its done. i got a free donught from the history department in the process, so my lack of participation was rewarded. that makes me feel worse.

i realize i may get comments about lack of effort or how this may affect the history departments assesment of themselves, but thats the way it goes. we were only supposed to get an hour for it anyways i guess, so there is not much more i could do anyways, for it took me an hour just to fill in all the circles.

jennifer hamilton came up to me afterwards, happy that she answered the question about lacross being canada's national sport correctly, and all i could do was smile and say, "thats cool", cuase i didn't even see that quesion. oops-si-daisy.

today

today was good.

i listened the the misfits for a bit of it. i also ate at rachel ekardts. here is what i ate today:
taco (2)
cookie (4)
corn chips (black)

not much else. in moving my cactus, a large piece of it fell off. thats understandable, since it is dead. it has been for some time, and i am quite saddened by this. i only have had it for a year, but it is of great sentimental value, as i dug it out of an navajo indian reservation in arizona. it did not survive despite the holy water treatment i gave it. i don't know much about horticulture, but holy water does not heal plants. despite the treatment disapointment, i suspect that i will see this cactus again in heaven. i am pretty excited about that. as an ode to my cactus, here is a picture of it in its last days.

as a type of u-googaly, i have written this haiku.

cactus

cactus green and strong
IA winter did you wrong
it's now safe from snow.

i picture it in heaven, running around on legs. green pokey legs. sniffle.

so, it has been a month since jason moved out. he left a lot of his clothes in hopes of picking them up later. i figure that since it has been a month, i can start wearing his clothes. that is what i did today. then i went to his house and he did not notice. it must be okay. i like his shirt.

meal time.

i still have a lot more candy to go through, but i ate a lot of what i had today. this is just like halloween. i felt pretty sick this morning from all the candy i ate. i even looked in the mirror and my tounge was purple.

today:
candy
beans and chicken
tortilla chips
pizza ranch
wine.

i also had some soul food today. josh played "friend of the devil" by the grateful dead for me while i drank my wine. i wish josh had not told me what that song means. i also wish i had some more wine right now.

as for more pictures, i was up until 2:30 last night splicing pictures. here is one. it is of one of the buffalo jumps. if you look to the right center, there is a place where the indians ran buffalo of the cliffs. it has since eroded, but you get the picture. at least i do.

bout time to put up some pictures.

yeah. i agree with what i say in my title. it is time to put up some pictures of montana. this is because i liked montana. here is the first picture of us at yellow stone national park. well, i guess i am holding the camera, but picture another fur trapper next to brad, and you get the idea.

this next picture is self explanitory. i say this because i am not sure what picture i am putting up yet. lets see...

this is a model dinosaur. the real ones are inside. brad is not in this picture. a dinosaur skeleton ate him. he was okay though. the dinosaurs digestive system has long since decomposed.

remember that simpsons episode where they visit the box factory? well, we did that to. it was cool. i did not see any ompa-lumpas. well, i saw a dead one. he had hung himself. i guess they like chocolate, not potatoes. jeff said that was the last one. i didn't take a picture of it, because i was puking all over the box stapler. so here is a picture of a fork lift.

this is egg nog. it is jeffs truck. i drove it a lot, some might say we had a relationship. i tried to shoot gophers from inside its cab. i missed. it is note worthy.

well there. pictures.

get candy get candy get candy get candy

i went to the sioux center trade show three times in the past two weeks. i got a lot of candy. i then ate a lot of candy. i feel pretty sick right now. i am drinking tea to calm my stomach. it is sort of working.

i am also not posting the cool-o-meter reading for today. although if i had known that jeff was giving up his health for lent by drinking scotch and smoking ciggarettes... well, i don't know what would have happened. it is up to the cool o meter. we'll see if that still affects him next thursday.

jeff was only average cool today. no picture to follow.

today:
-beef stroganoff
-corn
-ice cream
-candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy

meager meal time

not so much food today. kyle wigged out of dordt and skipped cooking for the room. it was his turn. as a result:

-macaroni and cheese
-ice cream (1/4 gallon)
-macaroni salad sample
-colslaw sample

i had to drink a lot of tea today. the samples at the sioux center trade fair were quite meager. as a result i had to wear my coon skin hat alot today. i figure that fur trappers starve once in a while. sometimes animals do not want to be shot. it happens. i am a fur trapper. i should know.

i did once skin a coon to make a hat, so i am a real fur trapper. the skin got thrown out during the salting process. my dad thought it was cluttering up his shop.

son of a bitch

i think that phrase was one of the most often used phrases on this trip. it signified general contentment, disgust, and fear. i guess it also anounced that you missed the gopher shot or lost your opertunity to slap a buffalo.

on this past trip, there were lot of times where i ate the best damn something. this includes the garbage burger and the steak jeffs mom cooked.

sadly i am back at school. this means that i am back in gen three stupid. here is how jeff rated today. i took two readings of him.

as you can see, he started off rather rough. he had an assignment done that i forgot about. yet i could feel that his cool points had picked up around 12:40. the reason, as written in the picture is this "up 80 points. it seems that after the gen 3-stupidness of my presentation, the cool-o-meter found jeff giving off a rediculous amount of cool-trons in comparison.

this calls for scientific analysis. evedently, when your surroundings have a severe defincincy of cool-trons, a cool persons body will try and compensate and give off more of its own. not everyone's body is cappable of compensating for the surroundings cool deficiency. this may because they are just not cool and are unable to produce cool trons in excessive amounts.

i have coined the term cool-trons. i suspect that cool may have something to do with electricity. cool people give off a certain kind of electronic waves. these waves affect the mood of those around them and make them feel good. that is why people gravitate to cool people. cool-trons are a form of electrons that are not so different from love-trons. love-trons work about the same, but are only picked up by people with love-trons recepticles that compliment the person sending the recepticles. i read all about love-trons, so i imagine cool-trons work the same way, even though there is little reasearch on the matter. go figure.

scroll through these meal days to find what day it was where i ate one of the best damn burgers i've had in a long time

yesterday:
-two arby's beef and cheddar with arby's sause. so good.
-m&m's (2), cashews (1), raisons (3), peanuts (6). all part of my handful of trail mix. seemed like a good mix to me. not just one of everything.

diet plan interjection

i have been eating pretty good out here in montana. mrs. schutter is a great cook and the restaurants we have been eating at have also been quite well.

two things i have not eaten so far would be...

1) a ground hog. i have gone ground hog shooting on a couple occasions already. one of these times i have taken jeff's truck egg nog. i have had the privelidge of driving it around on many occasions. i shot one ground hog. it flipped around several times, but fell back into its hole. jeff shot one as well.

2) bald eagles. i have not eaten any bald eagles, even though there are so many around that if i only open my mouth, one will fly in. only that is illegal. jeff says this amount of bald eagles is irregular.

i have been eating, but i have not been eaten. thats right, we put our lives in risk by visiting real live dinosaur bones, as well as seening elk and mule deer and bison at yellowstone national park. i would have been close enough to touch a bison, but jeff refused to drive over two feet so i could reach out of the window and slap in on the behind.

i was also not eaten by sulferous chemicals and acids as i walked through the hot springs.

today's meal

-closefaced egg sandwich (thanks mel, i had my doubts)
-peanut butter and honey sandwich
-best damn steak i've had in a long damn time.
-potato w/ butter
-lettuce

the egg sandwich was good. i wanted to make my own, but mel would not let me. the whole time she made it i was eyeing the frying pan susspicisouly. she did not break the yoke right away when she put the egg in the frying pan, but it worked in the end. i was really skeptical. i grew up not being able to trust anyone with my eggs. my mom has made me so many bad eggs that i resolved only to cook my own eggs. i was supprised with the amount of self control i had to use to not cook the egg myself. i mean, i know mel can make me eggs, she made me good eggs before, but hey, thats how i grew up. with shitty eggs unless i did it myself.
mel also makes good sandwiches in general. have her make you a ham and turkey sandwich in a sandwich maker. sandwich comes with all the accessories: mayonase, cheese, ham, turkey, mustard. ken doll not included.

but yeah. thats all i have eaten today.

i also weighed myself today. it is the first time i have come across a scale since i have started publishing this diet plan. that is the beauty of this diet plan. weight is not a factor, although you will become the desired weight as soon as you start loving yourself.
anyrate, i weigh 157.2.
lettuce see how much i weigh at the end of a month.

last gen 3 stupid before spring break

on the last day of gen 3-stupid before spring break, i forgot the cool o meter. i can only guess how jeff rated that day from cool vibes that people pick up. these are the same cool vibes that the cool-o-meter evaluates cool on, but the cool-o-meter is more accurate.

i predict that jeff had 100 billion to the coolth power cool points. i am not sure how to gauge things to the coolth power, but it sounds high. i just don't know.

cool-o-meter and blog commitment/dedication

this is the cool-o-meter for today. this is also all the notes i took in class today as well. i know that we talked about healthcare in gen 3-stupid, for i wrote that down, but that is as far is i have got.

today, jeff was up 40 cool points. he may have gone up more, but he tried telling me how the cool-o-meter works, and that made a big difference. i haven't figured how the cool-o-meter is affected by things like this, but i guess it is. it is not that telling people what to do affects the cool-o-meter, but something about telling people what to do is inheritantly anti-cool. it did not affect jeff that much. he meant well. both jeff and i had anticipated a rise in the reading, for jeff said he had a secret weapon to make him cooler. this weapon of mass uncool destruction turned out to be neon note cards. the cool-o-meter did not respond at all to these. not as much as it would have responded to a six pack. brown and liquid is more cool than neon and cardboard.

i think i will also take this time to respond to comments about the amount of time i spend blogging. HELLO! the blog is entitled, "mike says 'blog blog blog'". i don't think i could have been any more clear.

welcome sign

i stole this welcome sign. i thought it would be funny, but there is nothing funny about the aggrevation and anger that reaches the depths of ones spirit when one is an inch from sleep and justin jumps into bed and the metal rattles and clanks, waking everyone up in the entire apartment. friggen. so i think i will give it back. i tried talking to justin about it, but he refuses to slide into bed and would rather jump in, in anticipation of sleep.

some notes about the picture:
1. the fact that this welcome sign hangs on my bed is coincidental. i am inviting no one. my decency remains intact. it more reflects my wish to be able to drink tea in bed. a cup of tea in bed would be quite welcome. but alas, i cannot sit up in bed. the ceiling is too close.
2. yes, that is a picture of me humping adam in turtle form.
3. yes, that is an uncommonly high bowling score.

todays meal

today i ate,

-bowl of neopolitan ice cream (2)
-spagetti
-macaroni and cheese
-tea (lots)
-licked out a bowl of chocolate cake batter
-garlic bread (1)
-coffee

some thoughts on coffee time

i was pretty sad when i heard coffee time was canceled. as a result, i tried having coffee time at my house. i had coffee in my room, and a few poeple showed up. here is a picture of what it looked like.

revelation

first of all, to answer some comments, it was white bread, i would much rather eat wheat, but i was at a restaurant and i forgot to ask. secondly, it was a BLT, which is why i ate it. i find that i oftenlike layers when i eat things and i like the layers to be even. for example, nothing beats neopolitan ice cream, with three layers of equal ice cream goodness. that is the standard of food that Plato would speak of when talking about the idea of ice cream. people might think of ice cream, but all kinds are reflections of neopolitan, for neopolitan is an ultimate good. Plato may say that we may never know what "real" ice cream is, and that we can only wonder, since we only see glimpses of ice cream, rather than the real thing, but if he was around today and eating a bowl of neopolitan, he would add a neoplolitan clause in his philosophy. i think it is a Plato. if it is Aristotle, i will kick myself in the face. or request a choke slam from the Undertaker. i'll ask jeff in gen 3-stupid.
but in regards to layers, this is why my subconsious told me to order a BLT with its layers of goodness. i also like grandma's layered jello. it comes in a mold with a star on top, and last christmas, i scopped off the star shape. but it lost its shape when i scooped it. one of the evils of not eating all the layers but just the star.

my other revelation is that i don't eat much. i know there have been days in the past where i ate little, but this weekend kind of shocked me. but this is a lesson for all you faithful dieters. there is no need to eat lots, for i, as your fitness example functioned rather well this week. Your goal: get your body used to not eating and reap the benefits of being cheep.

not so fluff

interestingly enough, i called my mom today. not much else happened.

i would like to congratulate my cousin for buying a corvet. i have not seen pictures or anything like it yet. to commemorate this purchase, i will write my feelings in haiku

corvette in driveway
like a wild animal
that gets speeding fines.

my little brother also started wearing what some describe as a man purse. i condone this action, as those kinds of bags are acceptible in areas that are not as close minded as rural southwestern ontario. i think it has a high cool factor.

army purse of green
a place to store manly things
like grenades or a steak

another haiku from mike.

on a disturbing note, i had a couple weird dreams the other day. in one, justin and i were fighting what seemed to be a fight to the death. i think that i should be a ninja. there is really no hatred between me or justin. we like to wrestle, and punching and kicking in dreams is fun, for no one gets hurt.

ninja of night steals
down to protect weak and good
with a humble stealth

cool-o-meter

this is the cool o meter. you can see it is a movable dial. i draw different pages what the cool-o-meter reads to record levels of cool.

Friday, March 03, 2006

yesterday and the cool-o-meter

I have decided to publish the cool-o-meter via blog blog blog blogging. The cool-o-meter is one way of keeping sanity in Gen 3-stupid. After all, its stupid, so i find it important to record what shines out as cool ness.

the cool-o-meter rates jeff's cool performance for the day as seen in gen 3-stupid. it ranges from ultimate stupid to ultimate cool. i equate ultimate stupid as the ultimate stupid. here is the equation in classical aristoltelian logic. ultimate stupid=gen 3-stupid. ultimate cool is the exact opposite. ultimate cool=touchee squeeze. brief cool-o-meter history shows that jeff varies in cool and reaches both extremes. although never actually never falling as low as gen 3-stupid, he has on one occasion come quite close. creating phsyco-billy hair cuts or mohawks in general have been recorded to make the the cool-o-meter wig out and complete serveral full spins past touchee-squeeze to some undefinable realm of cool. i admit that the cool-o-meter is a primative machine, and although accurate may not always be able to show on the dial how cool one can be, but it does give acurate point value. i also must admit that i forget to record its going up or down, so it is hard to follow coolness doings unless it is constantly monitored. luckily for jeff, it is more often a ways away from gen 3-stupid.

i had plans for a modified cool-o-meter that will rate the coolness of ol' sleepy. he tends to sleep through gen 3-stupid, waking up periodically to make a nonsensical statement, bringing to everyones attention some idea that he dreamt up, usually something that warner had just explained while jeremy had been sleeping. these may be ideas like, why don't poor people sell someone elses expedition with leather interior to pay their own bills. it is just good money management. also he brings to our attention that poor people are atomatically spiritual and that having money is inherantly evil. in regards to the cool o meter, ol' sleepy obviously=gen 3 stupid, so making a modified meter seems usless.

anyrate, jeff rated at 5 points yesterday on the cool-o-meter, dangerously close to gen 3-stupid. i was suprised at the cool-o-meters ability to speak metaphorically, for it said that jeff was down 180 points, symbolizing a full turnaround in cool. this lowering in cool came from jeffs attempt at nominating me to speak for our group. the cool-o-meter reflects my feelings that i am a group coordinator for the book report, so there is no need to participate in any other kinds of work.

there are pictures of the cool-o-meter. it does not always mater what one you look at first. the cool-o-meter is one of progress, but you do not have to understand where it is going or where it has been. progress moves to the next day, not some cool heaven
